Roberto Mancini believes that Manchester City will have "no problem" finishing fourth in the Premier League.

The Italian has maintained throughout the season that the objective at Eastlands has been to finish in the top four and achieve Champions League football, and a victory over Tottenham on Tuesday would see them having achieved their target.

Currently sitting in fourth place, the former Inter boss believes that the six-point lead over Spurs - and four over Liverpool - should be enough to comfortably see his side through.

Mancini also says his side have learned from their 3-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield last month.

"Yes, I have learned [from the Liverpool game]," Mancini said, according to The Telegraph.

"I think that for the Champions League we have no problem because we have three games to play and we only need three points, but if we want to close this situation we should try to win. It is impossible to rest players.

"It is like two finals in a week for us. This is the problem but now we should try to win against Tottenham. We will play with all the team as it’s important we play a good game and win as we know what can happen then.

"We know that it will be a difficult match because Tottenham are a fantastic team. They have played Champions League and when you do that the season is very difficult.

"That is what we are trying to achieve and if we beat Tottenham, it is finished."

Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka has urged supporters to be patient with new signing Nuri Sahin, who will join the La Liga giants in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, but insists the club will await "big things" from the midfielder.

The Turkish star announced on Monday that he will be leaving the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions for Jose Mourinho's side this summer on a six-year deal.

Sahin joined the German club as an 11-year-old, making his first-team debut in 2005 and Karanka is fully aware that one of the stars of the Bundesliga this term will need time to settle in.

"Sahin has shown his quality in Germany and we await big things from him. We will be patient though, as he is 23 [this year]," Karanka told reporters.

"The signing is very positive for us. The club is already working on next season and he is a player that has had a sensational season. We will see how he adapts to Madrid, but we are happy because we have high hopes for him."

Sahin will be joining other ex-Bundesliga stars Mesut Oezil and Sami Khedira, who arrived in Madrid last summer, and Karanka was keen to highlight the club's policy of adding young, yet talented, players to their ranks.

"The transfer of Sahin is due to the line which the club took a couple of years ago - young but experienced players who proved their quality in important league," he added.
